The Arizona Charitable Tax Credit
The State of Arizona allows taxpayers to receive a dollar-for-dollar tax credit for donations to the Crisis Pregnancy Centers of Greater Phoenix, Inc.
What is the difference between a tax credit and a tax deduction? A tax credit is applied as a reduction to your tax bill. In this case, the credit comes off the top of your state tax bill, lowering the amount of money that you pay.
How do I qualify? You must simply itemize charitable contributions on your state tax return. This credit does not compete against the private school tax credit; and your allowed to take advantage of both credit at the same time. Starting in 2009 there is no longer a baseline year requirement – this means almost everyone may redirect their taxes to CPC.
If you have questions regarding this tax credit, please consult your tax advisor or contact the Arizona Department of Revenue at (602) 255-3381. Or go to their webpage (http://www.azdor.gov/TaxCredits.aspx) and click "Working Poor Tax Credit". We are listed on page 4 of 12.
Donations must be given on or before 12/31/2012.
